If you are less experienced in managing projects and looking to demonstrate your commitment to project management, improve your ability to manage larger projects and earn additional responsibility and stand out to potential employers, the CAPM certification is right for you.
To apply for the CAPM, you need to have:
A secondary degree (high school diploma or the global equivalent)and At least 1,500 hours of project experience or 23 hours of project management education by the time you sit for the exam
As a CAPM certification holder, you do not need to earn PDUs. Instead, you take a re-exam before the end of your five-year certification cycle.
PMBOK® Guide or Project Management Body of Knowledge is a collection of processes and knowledge areas that are accepted as best practices for Project Management across the world. This is essentially the sum of knowledge within the discipline of Project Management as maintained by PMI. The current version of the PMBOK® Guide is the PMBOK® Guide – Fifth Edition.

Once you are eligible, PMI will e-mail you examination scheduling instructions with your eligibility code which you will need when scheduling your exam. You can schedule your exam appointment online or by telephone. Full details can be found in the certification handbook and within the examination scheduling instructions.
All PMI computer-based exams are offered at all Prometric Testing Centers worldwide. You can check for locations on Prometric’s website but you will need to have submitted your certification fees and received your examination scheduling instructions in order to schedule an exam appointment.
Certification exams consist of multiple-choice questions. The amount of questions on each exam varies and the amount of time you are allotted to complete the exam also varies on the certifications for which you are testing.
